Ternus Steps Up. Cook Steps Down.

Just a quick post to mark the changing of the guard at Apple today. Tim Cook is stepping down as Apple CEO, moving to Executive Chairman of the Board. John Ternus is stepping up to take the CEO mantle and responsibilities.

There’s excitement around the change, but who knows how things will go. Cook deserves all the accolades and brickbats that have come his way. He deserves both.

Ternus won’t get much of a honeymoon. I doubt we see much change right away given how Apple operates. But he’s got the target on his back now and every move is now his.

The only constant is change and change happens.
